Hi there,
I looking to buy a car and was wondering if anyone here has some advice on which are the most economical to run and most reliable? Im a student so having low running costs and being reliable/cheap to repair is a priority, im not too bothered about looks. My budget is up to £2000, ive been looking at the Toyata yaris, Vauxhal corsa and Renaut clio, does anyone have any suggestions/reccomendations or perhaps experience of these cars?
Thankyou very much!!

Myself out of the ones listed would say the Toyota !! but if I had to choose it must be the Micra they are very reliable .
It will be interesting to hear what people in the trade suggest0 -
At that price level there will be lemons and minters

I would take along someone knowledgable, and check the service history, condition and general items.0 -
And don't get a three door one. The doors on the Yaris are ridiculously long.0

Working in an idependent garage my choice would be in the order you have listed. As mentioned the Micra is a good no frills car. Also the Polo is a pretty good buy.

My vote goes to the Nissan Micra- we`ve had ours for 6 years and not a single problem. Extremely reliable0

they stopped making them around X reg.. that's proper X reg, at the end.. then brought in those horrible cvh engined hatchbacks..... personally I wouldn't touch anything made after about 1985.... my Cortina is a Y reg (1983... proper Y) and is hardly ancient.... keeps up with modern traffic, slightly more economical than my ex's three year old Fiesta, and a lot better looking that most modern tripe...
