Advice for Larger Brides

I found some good information on the You and your wedding forum especially this thread with positive advice and this one with gorgeous photo's of larger brides. They all look gorgeous regardless of their sizes.
I stumbled accross it whilst looking for some info, obviously MSE is the bestest but I found the advice very helpful.
Basically you will be gorgeous in your dress whatever your size, your friends, family and most importantly your husband to be love YOU because you are you, not what size you are. They won't love you any more if you can fit into a size 10 dress. So don't stress it get the dress of your dreams ,you deserve it on your wedding day and you will be a beautiful bride whether you are a size 26,20 12 or whatever.
I hope this advice is helpful I've posted it as a few people myself included were having a few worries on the Landy thread as to whether we would look silly in the dress we liked. I don't think we will. I think we are all going to be GORGEOUS. :j

  • I got my dress from The Big Day and I would recommend them to anyone, they are absolutely amazing. The dresses in the shop are gorgeous and Lucy and Paula are fantastic, made me feel totally at ease and are just fab fab fab!
  • how odd - i have been flitting between here and that thread myself today! I still cant believe having only started shopping for a dress last week how small wedding dresses come up - surely you would think they would want to flatter you in this instance?!! I seem to have to go about 2 sizes bigger - is it just me? Also sick of the lack of choice - i am 18 -20 and I went to one shop where they only did 14's! I promptly canx appt!
I am still debating with landy Bridal....any plus size girls got dresses from there?
  • If you are anywhere near Yorkshire I would really recommend going to The Big Day, they have dresses in all sizes from a 16 to a 36 and loads you can try on without being made to feel like some kind of freak because you aren't a size 10.

Thanks, OP - I needed some reassurance today!

Three and a half weeks to go and my diet's not going well! Boo!

Ah well - I'll look radiant because I love my fella so much - who cares if my waist isn't as tiny as I would have wanted!

Know the feeling - me and the dress fell out weeks ago... ;-)

Seriously, as the average woman is size 14-16 anyway, and we are all getting married... doesnt that say something? All our other half are so not bothered, they love us as we are - so why are we stressing so much??

    We are all gorgeous!!
