BMW Service Intervals

Which model year BMW is it. Most BMWs use a computer to calculate the service based on usage time/start/temperature etc. So if you do loads of motorways journeys you might not need to service the car for 25k+ miles. The man without a signature.0

My Dads F reg 3 series and every one since then has had service lights there are no intervals, as said it depends on how you drive it. I would get a reset tool off that auction site or try google and there is some sites that offer procedures to reset it don't know if they work..
Reset it now then get it done as soon as the light comes on .
What BMW is it?0 -
If its a new ish one it may have the Service Inclusive package where you don't pay anything.0

As said it is condition based servicing, you really need the indicator resetting to know where you are.
25K miles is probably stretching it a bit, may be for a car that sits on the motorway at 60mph.
What have you got?
An E46 320d (up to 2005) 3 series oil service is somewhere in the region of 15,000 miles, a younger E90 320d is typically somewhere in the region of 18,000 to 22,000 (perhaps in an extreme case 25,000+), varies a lot with driving conditions.
It was late E46's that had the service package included, I would have thought most of these would have expired now?0 -
It won't be any different than any other car. Vehicle service intervals generally are a 'best fit' system. The oil change will be dependant upon oil condition at the time - some vehicles measure the conductivity of the oil to gauge condition and adjust their interval accordingly.
Coolant, gearbox oil, diff oil, etc - all dependant upon use.
If you're using fully synthetic oil than an interval of anything between 10,000-15,000 miles will be fine. You'll need to know about replacement items like drivetrain components and engine parts, you can get all that from any BMW forum.0
