ING-awful!

I opened a ING account to get the £20 offer. However, I was sent an email saying I had to send a cheque for £1 to open the account. On the email they gave me the wrong number so I found the correct one and was on hold for ages. I spoke to a guy and told him I had no cheque book. He told me in a very rude manner that I would have to get one or else no account. I asked to speak to someone about this and was put on hold for ages. I eventually got cut off. Not impressed :mad:

Well, it sounds appalling, but I think it was in the Terms and Conditions. You had to send your deposit from the Bank account that you mentioned on the application form.
How do you manage without a cheque book? I don't use it very often, but just occasionally I need one.

Wow you could try reading the offer first?
The only restrictions are you're over 18 and have a personal UK bank or building society current account, with a chequebook and Direct Debit.
No sympathy from me. I am sure the rudeness was 2 ways to be honest.0 -
@lolly333 Well,
if you have not got the chequebook, then you should not open it. I mean, chequebook are quite common enough and I do not know anyone who does not have one. I used it to pay money into Individual Savings Accounts and Savings Certificates. You might have to consider requesting one from your bank. I thought it is normal to get a chequebook if you open an account with a bank. 0
