Toshiba sat pro p300 - oversensitive mouse pad?

hi, Can anyone help with a ridculously over-sensitive mouse pad on my friend's sat pro p300 please?

Basically, when trying to navigate web pages, it jumps to the previous page for no apparent reason.

It also jumps across text while typing.....

she's contacted the place it came from (just two weeks ago) and they are only offering tech support, which she will have to pay for if they find nothing 'wrong' with it. A few people have told her that it is a common niggle with some Toshiba machines but if that is the case, the supplier is refusing to replace the machone with a different one...

If they have checked in Control Panel and there's no Mouse setting that corrects it there, one likely cause is that whoever last rebuilt the machine didn't install Toshiba's own touchpad driver, so it's running on a generic Windows one. If the following link works you should be able to download it here:

Hi', just a quick update and further questions on the P300 - I have used the recovery disk to take advantage of the xp downgrade as my mate wasnt happy with vista.

Now the touchpad is worse than ever - I've downloaded and installed the only drivers listed on Toshiba's website but it's not scrolling at all now and when typing into a box on the net, like now, the cursor jumps around all over the place.

This machine is two weeks old!

Any suggestions?
