Best places to buy cheap luggage?

Options
I'm looking to buy a cheap suitcase to take as hand luggage on Ryanair flights. I found this at Argos, which is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for but maybe a bit too big. Where would be some other good places to look? I can't buy online as I need it for this weekend!

The best place I have found is my local indoor market for both hand and checked bags. He even has scales so you can compare weights which is key when using Ryanair.

i bought one of these last year and have used it about 6 times on ryanair, and also on BA.
it is unfortunately just too big for the cages ryanair use at the airports because Argos measurements do not account for the wheels. this puts it 2cm over size.
so far, i have been ok and although i know it wont fit the cage i will continue to chance it.
the only thing i do is when at gerona i make sure that the local dragon who guards the bottom of the stairs to departures has gone on a break before i go through, as she seems to be hell bent on stopping everyone whose case looks too big or too heavy - and she has been known to get everyone to put their case in the cage even when it is obvious that it will fit.
i think she likes the power;)
  • Ikea...of all places sell cases that are so light and within restrictions of hand luggage, also I bought one in BHS.

My local TK Maxx has Samonsite and other makes of trolley dolly suitcases and holdalls in their clearance sale. They are not with the handbags but instead they are right at the back of the store in the clearance section. HTH.
  • Debenhams sell great Tripp cases, We paid £30 each, I know its not that cheap, but they paid for themselves after the first flight. The quality is fantastic and it was a relief to finally get cases that are within the measurements. We purchased cases from both Argos ans Matalan that had to be returned as they were too big.
Not sure where you live but there is a Tripp outlet at Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port and they had cases there for £15 each.
    Hope this of help?
