Credit Card giving out information to affiliated companies?

Capitalone Credit Card:(
I have a problem with a CC, they gave my information to a company called senatile (SP) who are like an insurance company....(I found out that my CC compny are affilaited to them) this company have taken £20 out of my CC account....putting me overdrawn, I rang them all weekend and asked for proof that I said that they could do this....apparently a manager is going to ring me this morning....My CC have charged me £12 for going Overdrawn....they then lastnight said they would refund this charge.....I have a direct debit set up for the minimum amount, so that my CC doesnt go overdrawn.....Is this allowed??????? Please help!!
Ps why are my details being given to another company???? Surely this is illegal??

If you read the small print you will probably find that somewhere they mention that they may pass your details on to a 3rd party who's products might be of interest to you. There's normally a box you can tick if you would prefer not to have your details passed on but it's buried away in the terms & conditions somewhere.

Don't know then. I had card protection insurance when i first got my card & the second year they automatically took payment based on me agreeing the first time. It looks like you will only find out for sure when they contact you.

    You are right gomer!!
Apparently it was telemarketing from Capital one who contacted me.....and apparently I agreed to it:(
Well its cancelled now and capital one have agreed to waive the £12 charge for my accound being overlimit!!!
I did also say to them how they could pay it when firstly there were not enough funds in the account.......and secondly how they could charge me when I have a DD set up to prevent me from going over my limit!!!

Sentinel are a card insurance company, and will have a continuous credit or DD mandate on your account from when the service was initiated.

Just before renewal they send a letter, at which point you can call and cancel if you choose, or let it continue for £20 odd a year.

I can hand on heart tell you that I didnt get the letter!!!
I have spoken to them, and told them the same.......they said the letter was sent out in October!!! (money was taken in Jan!)
Its all good now as Cap 1 as a gesture of goodwill refunded my account by £24.00 (One of the managers rang eventually:D) I know its not a lot, but it brings me back into credit again!!! They offered £12 initially and I asked when the manager was going to ring me!!
