Depends if they can get away without ercting scaffolding.
We live in a three storey house, and they said they had to erect scaffolding due to H & S regs, to replace one slate !!! (Though covered by house/building insurance)
Did take the opportunity to do work on the front of the house whilst it was up.
Is it covered by insurance ?Baby-Mechanic
The only reason I keep smiling is so that people wonder what I've been up to !!0 -
a roofer wouldnt dream of scaffolding for a few slates, they work off ladders and there ladders are inspected regularly for health and safety reasons.
but i do know where your coming from with h and s regulations. working at heights act etc as i work at heights for a living.
i rescently had a ridge tile blow off and smash through my garage roof, the roofer worked off ladders to replace a ridge tile, cement and clip it in place.then fitted about 5 new tiles on the garage, cost was £70. took less than an hour.0
