Can't cancel Oyster season ticket?
I placed an order for a zone 1-3, 7 day travel pass on Sunday night, to be collected from my local tube station. I found out this morning (work) I will not be in London for most of this week and want to cancel the order.
The ticket shows as ready at gate on the tfl website and says to call to cancel. Upon calling, after 10 mins of discussion, I'm told that it is not possible to cancel the ticket once it is "read at gate". The only way to have it canceled at this stage is to avoid picking it up, i.e. not traveling through that station. Unfortunately, that would make my travel today rather difficult.
I'm sure there are ways around it through buying paper tickets but I am very surprised to find that tfl can't cancel a ticket that hasn't been collected yet. Can anyone else confirm this? Has anyone found a way around it?

This is wrong. They can cancel a ticket, whether part way through or unused. I suggest you either call again, or go to a tube station and ask for advice.0
