How do I get some action taken against a bank employee?

Would you persue the same action if your local chippy forgot to put salt on your fish and chips? What about footballers? They get paid millions and cant kick a ball into a net, they should be shot dead you agree?0

What's wrong with giving the OP the benefit of the doubt? There *are* some downright arrogant and unhelpful bank staff. just as there are in any walk of life. They are paid to be helpful and approachable and if they cannot or will not do so then action needs to be taken, although it seems in this case action HAS been taken.0

Uncertain: what exactly did this person say/do? "Attitude" is a broad term, that could cover a lot of things.0

To a point I agree, but (and as he's been a little unclear with what's actually happened, even this is a bit of a fuzzy one) it's unclear exactly what action he wants taking, and in fairness it's entirely up to the bank to deal with its employees as it sees fit.0 -
You really can't make it happen. Ultimately, it's up to that member of staff's line manager.
I'd ignore the group complaints centre and try to go straight to the line manager, if you can find their name - and then discuss the issue with them. Again, you can't force anything to happen beyond asking for the issue to be discussed with the MoS.
Having dealt with a stupid number of different staff over time, the difficulty you will likely run in to is that the staff member doesn't WANT to change, no matter how much you or their manager wills it. Excluding gross misconduct, it is VERY difficult to fire someone, more so if they're union - so they get away with anything. What would William Shatner do?0 -

True, but then I'd vote with my feet and go to another bank. They are paid to be helpful and approachable and if they cannot or will not do so then action needs to be taken, although it seems in this case action HAS been taken.
No, a staff member is paid to do what the company/line manager tell them to do.
I also do think action has been taken and the £100 proves it. £5 is "shut up/small complaint" money not £100.Originally Posted by Dr Cuckoo3

I don't see why anyone would want to ensure that someone in a company received disciplinary action.
The compaint was dealt with, you were compensated. Anything else frankly is none of your business in my opinion.0 -

How do you know what action has or hasn't already been taken against the member of staff? Any disciplinary action is between employee and employer and would be confidential wouldn't it?0
