Ok - the cooking malarky I am not too bad at......still experimenting with the SC but not too bad with the rest!! :rotfl:

Brown off your mince and add your veg. Then make up some Bisto or Gravy of any kind! add this to your mince and sprinkle in one or two Oxo cubes. Season to taste and chuck in some mixed herbs for good measure. You can also add the optional splash of Red wine!

Or you could add rosemary which is lovely in your shepherds.

Chuck it in your casserole dish and top with your Mash - sprinkle with some grated cheese.........Mmmmmmm yum!!

    xx

my thank you button has gone:eek:

    will give that a go

    Morning all

Toots, Wednesday done. I've done half of Tuesday but I'll finish that tomorrow, Thursday. What day is it? :D

I've also done all the bedrooms - wonder what day that will be - I'm confusing myself. I'll post on the right day to get my star!

Two loads of washing on the line including my bedding. I've put the two new pillows out today, thrown one old one away and kept one in the airing cupboard as a spare.

Hope everyone's OK. I'll try to catch up a bit now until it's time to start cooking (I've peeled the potatoes and carrots too). Oh, and I took the dog out early this morning. Should have waited until I took my painkiller, I could have cried with the sciatica first thing but I thought someone might be looking out of their window ;)

Make soup with your ham shank:)
Just add barley water carrots leeks onions and carrots season with pepper only (as the ham shank will be salty enough)

have bought a ham shank at the butchers any ideas what i can do with it

economising as son been picked to play golf for the county in 7 weeks in menorca dont know how much it will cost so need serious money quick!!

Wow - thats fab - my BF is always off playing golf somewhere; in competions etc......its good if I can manage to go with him and sunbathe when he is off being very busy! :rotfl:

Ham shank - right, Im sure this can go in the Slow Cooker with some water - but I havent tried it personally myself!

You can also, chuck it in a pot of hot water and boil it for a few hours. You can use the leftover water to make soup with by adding a load of carrots, potatoes, some swede, some leeks, some broth or soup mix or good old lentils/split peas etc - and of course a little bit of the meat.......

Im sure all of this will apply to the SC too - and would be pretty straight forward, I just havent got round to trying this myself xx

What is Greenmetroplis? Will it sort out 10 shipping boxes of books and the 5 smaller boxes that are in aunties cupboard that she keeps telling me to take home??????????????

Greenmetropolis is great for selling unwanted books with minimum hassle. You simply load the book by ISBN number and bob's yer uncle ;) You can search by author, title or ISBN number as well, if they don't have the book you want simply add it to your wish list and when one is listed you get an email.

Car loaded for morrisons/recycling. Clothes folded from TD and that and WM back on. Found some coats that are too small for the SW's so giving them a wash before decluttering them! The hall looks like a bomb has gone off BUT it is getting better :rotfl:

Shepherds pie - I dice and soften some onions, add and brown the mince. Then chuck in an oxo cube, red sauce, brown sauce, herbs and either marmite, hendersons relish or Worcester sauce depending on what I pick up first! Never quite the same taste lol but always nice. Oh and grated cheese on top of the tatties if I feel indulgent.
