Reclaiming Bank Charges from TSB...

...or opening a can of worms?
Back in 2007 I decided I would try and claim back bank charges for 2 Lloyds TSB accounts and one Lloyds TSB credit card. The total charges for the bank accounts were £2193 and £1251. The credit card had £60 or charges. I submitted claim forms etc and received a "one off payment" of £700 into the account which had £1251 of charges which they said was a gesture of good will. I had a baby shortly after and haven't followed up on it, but have noticed in the media that charges are still being reclaimed and I wondered if anyone had any advice for me - ie should I pursue it or should I leave it? I did fill in the initial forms for court proceedings but my baby was born premature and I ended up withdrawing the court paper work due to being in hospital etc so not sure if that would affect where I stand?
Any advice would be great....

When you received the £700 was it in full and final settlement or did you reply asking for the rest ? Lloyds always did £700 as standard.
I would write to them again and pick the claims up from where you left off, adding in any new charges you have received. If you arent in financial hardship then you will probably have to wait till after the test case before getting a refund, and there isnt a lot of point going into court as everything there will just be held and you would end up out of pocket on the court fees for months.LegalBeagles0 -
I'm pretty sure the letter said that it was a "gesture of goodwill". Would I just complete new forms with the remaining amount outstanding? I'm not in financial hardship, but it would be such a great boost to clearing my debts if I got the rest of the money back!!0

Can anyone advise how I would carry this on?
Would there be any implications to me withdrawing the initial court proceedings because of the premature birth of my daughter?
Any help gratefully received, this money would be such a fantastic boost because I could get rid of Lloyds TSB from my life forever!!!!0 -

Hi Widelats, was that to Lloyds TSB? Is there a second letter you send or do you just have to wait because of the test case? Are there any indications as to how long it will take to get a resolution at the house of lords on this?0
