Hi im sorry if this is in the wrong place but im hoping someone can help me!
i recently took out a credit card in order to pay for a flight just in case the company goes bump at least i can claim my money back!
would i still be able to claim the money back if the company goes bust and i have cancelled my credit card??

    Why be in such a hurry to cancel?

    May I ask how many credit cards you have at the mo?
    People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.
  • thats the only 1 i owe no money on it but ive had a lot of trouble with the bank its with so want to close down all connections to it if possible but also want to know before i do that i can still claim the money back on it if the company does go bust??

    Yes you can BUT they will almost certainly refund the money to the card - fine if its still open but if its not and you owe money to another part of the bank they might exercise their right of set off if your card ends up in credit.

    My advice - don't use the card unless you really have to but don't shut it down. Hopefully your flight will be ok but let them close it down if they want to if you have problems with the bank.
