I like buying CAT D cars and having them repaired but since I never seem to sell cars so I'm not interested in the resale value.
If I was I would be wanting a fair bit off the price eg +20% or photos of the damage before the repair to make up my own mind.
Some cat D will just be a a new wing and a paint job. Some will have had a bit more damage my current panda required a new gear box which was unexpected.
Ask who repaired it if it is the seller then they should be open with you if they aren't and the price is not that much cheaper then walk away.
