Ending CSA payment in advance or arrears

Hi All

Possibly a silly question but....

When do you finish payments say when the QC is 19 on the 15th of the month, is it at the beginning of that month that you only pay for 14 days or do you pay just 14 days at the end of that month....so are we in advance or arrears or is it on a individual case basis

I want to be able to stop the DD myself without making a overpayment

As far as I'm aware you can be up to a month in arrears.
My Son was 19 on the 14th of the month but I still paid nearly the full amount on my usual 16th of the month.
I would be vary wary about stopping your DD before you receive an official notice of case closed.
This may put your account into arrears & may delay the closure of your case because it may not be closed while there are still arrears outstanding.

Maintenance Is Always Paid In Arrears Through The Agency So You Would Be Liable For The Month After Closure.

Thanks for advice, only things are very tight for us being on CS1 so i'll have to wait for them, my meal ticket for life will be pleased with the overpayment.

No, this is wrong. You're confusing this with carrying on with further education until September.
Under present rules, child support ceases on the 19th birthday, although as stated earlier, there is usually the one month in arrears payment to be made following the 19th birthday.
