Hi everyone, I just thought I would share this with everyone.
We threw a surprise party for my mum last night as she retired last week. I decided to make her a cupcake cake. This is my first attempt at anything like this, and I have to say I am really proud of how it turned out!!
Here are some pics -
The cupcakes

The cutting cake on the top - provided by Mr Marks and Spencer lol - Im not that good yet!! The flowers on the cake are just the spare ones left over from the cupcakes, and the topper is just a me to you mothers day figure

Here is the finished product!!

And my mum cutting into it -

Hope you all like it!!!

Very pretty indeed, i want a cupcake cake for my wedding so much simpler for us than buy a load of cake no one will eat and it looks fab too!0 -
Your cakes look brilliant.
I am planning something similar for my wedding reception in May - again with the top cake being from M&S.
My one Q is how mnay cakes did you make and how long did it take you??
My mum is worried that I will be too stressed to actually have the time to make them.0 -
Hi cuthbert, I made a total of 48 cakes. The stand held about 40. It took me about 3 hours to make the cakes on thursday night, and just over an hour yesterday morning to ice them with buttercream. I bought the little flowers premade from a seller on ebay, all in all it was very very easy! You're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0
