I had the opposite problem with my parents, who lived so frugally and deprived themselves of things they thought they could not afford. I could not persuade them to spend money on making their lives easier or more comfortable, even though at the end of the day when they died I discovered they had far more put away than I ever dreamt.0 -
Thank you everyone for your kind words, and yes didn't think i would be the one helping parents out(i always thought it was the parents helping out the siblings!LOL)
Well i have given them a budget of £65 a week and have told them to do a diary of there weekly spending for the next 6weeks,so they can actually see where there money goes. After that we will review,i am hoping the £65 will include petrol as well?! I have taken there credit cards from them! But on a postive note once i had set there direct debits up for there credit cards they did say can we pay more on the cards if we have spare cash!! So maybe it's sinking in?!?0
