British Gas Homecare Terms & Conditions
Bear in mind that British Gas will typically quote twice the price that an independent certified gas engineer will charge to replace a boiler. Not sure what discount they will apply, but I bet it won't be 50%+If your boiler is seven years old or more, and it is not possible to repair it or you choose to replace it at any time (however old it is), as a central heating customer, you are entitled to a discount on the cost of installing a boiler if we replace it.
I've seen posts on here where British Gas have declared boilers as young as 5 years old not repairable.
You say your heating system is 30 years old. Why are you now considering paying £132.60 per year for something you may not need and probably will involve you in a great expense if you allow them into your home to [STRIKE]sell you more products/services[/STRIKE] service your boiler."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I used to be with them but they alway's tried to sell you something when they came to service, try th eon site as I went with them at a lot less and have found them to be very good.0

Try and find a local Corgi registered engineer who's been recommended to you. Cheaper than BG." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

It would be safer to invite Frank Spencer to look after your boiler than Homecare.0
