Best place to save??

Hi there newish to the Forum, hope someone can help me.
Just started a 12 month Mobilisation with the RAF, going out of country for 6 months around July. I am looking to save as much money as possible during this time hopefully saving somewhere between £500 and £750 per month, where would the best place to put my savings? I currently bank with LLoyds if that makes any difference.
Any advice greatfully received!!
