Not sure if this is the right place for this post, but i am wondering if anyone out there has had any problems with billing issues with online gaming?
I'm sure many users here either play online or pay for children who play online.
There seems to be no comeback or complaints procedures for dealing with these issues.
I am currently trying to contact a company called GOA, for a service offered in the UK, and billed as a UK company. Yet they will only tell me to direct all correspondance to an address in France.
Does anyone have any advice regarding reclaiming money paid over the internet to a foreign company? or do i not have a leg to stand on as i think?
thanks in advance.

just called my bank to see if the money was taken from my bank account for the automatic renewal, I paid on a debit card; the money has been allocated to be paid and could not be stopped.
However the kind lady on the phone gave me some advice, which might help people who are worried about this happening again.
I was told that because I had given my card details to GOA then they are entitled to use them, the bank cannot stop the payment. This is different to a Direct Debit subscription which gives you the power to do that.
She went on to say that, I should write and email to GOA and request that my account/subscription be cancelled and instruct that no further payments should be taken, keeping a copy of all correspondence sent and received. Then if GOA decide to take payment again without my consent then the bank can take legal action on my behalf.
Yesterday I sent a message via the email form on the war-europe website and I have had a generic email stating terms and conditions back from GOA, so I doubt that I will be getting back my £8.99 .
GOA needs to step up and take note, I hope they spend my £8.99 wisely, they aren’t getting another penny from meEx forum ambassador

Well it sounds like you have had exactly the same response as i did from CSR all i got was an address to a French Telecom company that supposedly owns GOA:
France Telecom S.A.
6 Place d'Alleray - 75 505 Paris cedex 15 - FRANCE
tel +33 1 44 44 22 22
They suggested i direct all my correspondance there.
Im AMAZED that online gaming as a business worth millions seems
to have little or no policing regarding subscription payments
made outside the UK for services rendered in the UK.0
