Face-To-Face Interview On Wednesday - WISH ME LUCK!

  • Hey, thanks all for asking.

It lasted 4 hours! The guy was very nice and friendly but I still felt like I'd been squeezed through a mangle. To add to my humiliation, there was a young trainee sat in with us observing the interview and taking notes throughout!

Anyhoo, he's sending it all off and it looks like I'm likely to get the "Taking out credit without reasonable expectation of repayment" BRU. I can live with that and I've no immediate plans to become a councillor or MP anyway!

I'll report back on the length of the BRU once it's gone through.

    Cheers everyone!

Hello, I am glad it went "well" for you. I am sure I will be grilled as well - so what are the implications of the ""Taking out credit without reasonable expectation of repayment" BRU" be - does it extend your 12 months.

Oh, good luck! Nah, it's separate from the discharge date. You just have certain restrictions, none of them too bad unless you were thinking of running for Parliament or becoming a judge! You get a BRU if you don't dispute their findings and it's less serious than a BRO and much shorter. They tend to be around 2-5 years on average.

See the full list of restrictions at:

    http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/pdfs/guidanceleafletspdf/bro.pdf

And you can compare your circumstances to those of people who already have one and try to gauge how long you may get by visiting:

Thanks for that - it seems a bit hit and miss for the West Midlands, like there is one who owes the tax and gets a 2 yr BRU, and others who have hidden things and get 10 yrs.

True, yeah. I picked that one (it was actually the East Midlands) at random. It counts in my favour that in the West Midlands (where I am), on the other hand, they seem to be a bit more lenient:

I don't know which region you're in but you can pick yours to browse through at:

    Happy hunting!
