Today I ordered 16 sqm of these tiles from Topps: (at trade price)
http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/section394/page1/pietre-di-keope-beige-floor-tiles.html
I will be having these fitted on the kitchen floor next week by the local tiler. Regarding the regular daily cleaning, he says that you can just clean them normally, ie mop with water and mild detergent. Topps also told me this, yet once specialist tiler said DON'T use any detergent...just use water on its own! Could someone please clarify? Also will i have to use any specialist cleaners initially such as the ones from this list:
http://www.armatile.com/docs/doc454891779343a_Lithofin%20Porcelain%20tiles%20method%20statement.pdf
Finally is Keope a good brand of porcelain tiles? I believe they're Italian made.
Thanks:)

Trust Lithofin more the Topps, they are in the business of maintaining these products on a daily basis.
Strangely some porcelain requires sealant which I've never quite been able to understand. A matt finish porcealain might benefit from a treat ment once laid, it would certainly make it easier to maintain.
talk to hese guys for a specialist opinion...

Thanks for this link Alan. After seeing this, I made an enquiry and bought the Intensive Cleaner for my disgustingly filthy terracotta quarry tiles. I can not begin to tell you how good the results are! Both the tiles and grout are "as new" .... so I'll have to decorate the rest of the kitchen now! :rotfl:
Great service too. I made an email enquiry from the website and had a personal reply from a Director of the company, which included his full contact details including his mobile number :T :T :T
Courier also delivered to instructions and left the package under the oil tank, as requested, so I didn't need a 40 mile round trip to collect!
Wonderful, attentive old fashioned service, with the benefit of online ordering. Fantastic product - couldn't ask for more.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for that link!!! :j :jWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
That'll have been James then.
They are a decent company, they are the only firm I recommend for this stuff as I know He won't flog something unsuitable just for the sake of a sale.
Might be worth asking about sealant or polishes, they can maintain the cleanliness of the tiles a lot longer then if just left in their natural state.0 -
