Hi some advice please
i have put a deposit of £50 down on a bicycle paid for on my credit card. the guy at the shop stated that it was a 2008 bike and was already heavily discounted because of this and would not give me any more off the £310 price.
I have since got home and looked on the internet to find it is actually a 2007 bike and being sold for more than the 2008 model.
Would I be in a position to ask for the deposit back due to him misleading me?
Thanks in advance

I think it would be reasonable to ask for your deposit back, yes.0

I would have thought so if they have miss lead you, do you have anything in writing indicating from them it was a 2008 model?
One of the SOGA experts will come along and give you the exact advice shortly.

Hi,
As long as you can prove that they advised that it was the 2008 model, and you can prove that it is the 2007 model, you will be entitled to the money back.
It may be worthwhile printing off the information that you found on the internet so you can show them when you go back to get the deposit back. Alternatively if you are happy to have the 2007 bike, try negotiating the price.0
