Plumbing question - leaking drain !!!!

Good evening. I wonder if anyone can help out.
Having recently cleaning our cleaning our central heating I had drained it a couple of times. We have several pipe loops and on one of them the draincock won't reseal.
I think this is because it's an old system and the seal has just failed after being used for the first time in years.
Any how. I have the system fully drained and have removed the central part of the draincock, which mainly consists of a threaded section with no gland on the thread. Does this mean it is a type B draincock?
I was hoping to simply replace the screw in part with that from another draincock. Is that likely to work? If so, would it be possible to use a the screw in part from a type A draincock or would it have to be a type B? It seems the DIY sheds only do type A!!
Thanks for any help.

If the centres are the same, they are interchangeable. Some of them are a cone interference fit, to stop the water, and some of them are a rubber O ring sealing type. So you need to figure out which one you need.
This is not me. This my OH speaking.Life.

Thanks for the reply. The one I picked up from my local Focus seems to have worked.0
