Yeah you're right I could cut back on going out on weekend I guess. Even spending just 20 quid would leave me an extra 80 quid a month.

Here's the bank statement for my month so far. That £150 on 16th Feb is a deposit for a place in salford with cheaper rent.

I get paid every 15th of the month so as you can see I'm already getting low :( There are things on there that I can see I shouldn't have spent such as the unaccounted for £40 and the £30 for the pub.

Imagine taking another 200 out of that tomorrow though in order to pay Egg and Halifax? I'd have over three weeks to run with hardly any money, needing petrol and food.

Granted, last month was a tough one, which was mostly motoring expenses.

That statement... might as well knock another £90 of it today. Called all my creditors and made the first step by offering them token payments and setting up DD's starting the month after (I've also made sure they come out the day after pay day... that takes a strain off me). Ok, I'm living on Super Noodles until 15th March but I feel a million times better for knowing all the creditors won't be calling me. Hopefully I'll get this freelance job for £700 too... the guy said he'll transfer £210 deposit in midweek once his lawyers have checked out some of his other stuff that may affect this job. Almost certainly got it but not quite there until I see his £210 :)

    GE Capital: £270 / £300
    Style (Wescot): £630 / 1,060
    Halifax: £500 / 863 (£500 limit)

    good for you mate!!

I know from experience just getting a few DDs after payday can make all the difference in terms of mood!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • I'm pleased you're sounding brighter and things seem to be moving forward. Keep it up!

I would have a word with your local tax office if I was you!

    My monthly salary is £1,777.92

    I then pay;
    £268.39 tax
    £127.94 NI
    £56.89 pension
    £7 sport & social club

That leaves me with £1,317.70!

So with you earning £318.96 a year more than me I take home £32.40 a year more than you plus my other other payments (pension and sports and social) is more than yours!

No mystery there. Your pension comes off BEFORE tax is deducted.

Well luckily I got that freelance job (bank transfer for £210 deposit in progress) so that's a big help. Won't see the other £490 until it's done though. Might need 50-100 quid from it just to keep my head above water until the 15th March then the rest can be a huge lump sum off my Managed Loan since this has high interest and the biggest balance :) Got another freelance client I'm waiting to hear back from too which should be ~£1000... if I can handle to work load for a few months and the clients keep coming I'll feel great! :D

It's what working mums with kids manage, year in and year out :D
