Removing a radiator with a daisy wheel valve

Hi, I want to remove a radiator, but am not sure how to turn the supply off. The locking shield nut just seems to keep turning. I think it is called a daisy wheel. It seems to work on a wedge shape arrangement. You can turn it clockwise forever, but you can only turn it anticlokwise once as it hits a stop. How do you know when it is turned off? i.e. in what position is it off?

Take the plastic cover off the spindle as the plastic is probably strained and so wont turn the valve, and then get some pliers and turn the spindle fully clockwise to isolate the water supply.0

It does say "shut" on the valve ? maybe it is shut when you hit your "ledge"?
Is there a screwdriver slot in the centre of the valve when looking into the threaded part? If so then turning that clockwise will close off.
You will be able to tell if/when it is shut off by opening the bleed valve, water pressure will stop as soon as the pressure is relieved, obviously you will need to close the inlet valve as wellDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
