I assume you have a little icon on the taskbar indicating the connection? If so left click it and tell us what IP address your card has and what IP address it's connected to? You'll find them on the 'Support' tab. Also click the 'Details' tab and tell us what your DNS server is set to.letsbehonest wrote: »I can connect to my wireless network, the adapter is a plug in wireless Lan Pcmcia adapter made by Broadcom 802.11g drivers loaded
For example, my settings are:-
Address type: Assigned by DHCP
IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.1
On the details page the DNS server is shown as 192.168.1.1
That shows I'm connected to my router and that the router is acting as a domain name server, (DNS). DNS is the system that translates domain names to IP addresses.
As macman says, it's possible that your firewall is blocking the router setting up your connection correctly. I'd try turning it off for the moment until you get connected properly and turn it back on once we find out if that's the problem.
Also, just to ask the obvious question
... can you connect to the internet through the router with other PC's? 0 -
