and to the OP who mentioned the long stay at the airport - that is the whole point of looking for other parking, they are quoting £90 for our length of stay.
And this is Money Saving Expert
That would have to be a real friend to do that for you.:j
I dont know inverness that well, so sorry I cant help.Vampires Rock :eek:0 -
I wouldn't recommend parking at Tescos.
My Mum & I were at one of the Tescos last Sunday (sorry, I don't know which one exactly - according to my Mum it's the middle sized one of the 3, if that helps lol) and there were stickers on 2 of the cars next to us giving them 7 days notice to remove their cars or have them removed for them.
I'm afraid I can't help you with where to park though - as you may have guessed I don't know Inverness very well (Mum & dad only moved there last May).
If you're really stuck, you can park outside my flat in Glasgow - I'll even keep an eye on your car and make sure you make the bus from Buchanan St to Inverness. :rotfl:0 -
sorry for being nosey but where did you end up parking your car?Vampires Rock :eek:0

You could always park at Raigmore hospital, in the main car park.... it's free now, and it's £1.35 for the bus to town, I think there's a service to the airport from Falcon Square (number 1 or 1A) and it's £3 single.
Apologies if this info isn't too great - my only experience of Inverness is when OH was in Raigmore!
The parking at Raigmore Hospital is free, but this is for patients, visitors and staff ONLY. What an abuse of facilities! When I worked at the hospital it used to frustrate me no end that I couldn't find a parking space because people were using it as a cheap alternative to city car parks.
Don't park there-security are wise to this now and will clamp your car if it's there for an excessive amount of time.:mad:0 -
Usually there are time limits in retail parks. My local Tesco clearly has signs up saying no stays over 3 hours, I'd have thought they'd all be the same policy. I wouldn't think it would be very safe in a retail park anyway, not for three weeks. Is there not any sort of Park and Ride facility in Inverness you could use?0

My advice is bite the bullet and pay up - who wants to spend their holiday worrying about whether their car is going to be clamped/towed/broken into/damaged (as per NUMEROUS cases at Retail Park that I or people I know have witnessed) when you're obviously planning a lovely extended holiday. Yes, it's more expensive but at least your car is right there when you fly in and is pretty much guaranteed to be safe. Obviously the prices are somewhat inflated at Inverness compared to other airports, but in my mind it's not a money saving plan to leave your car somewhere it could be considered illegal - and I'm sure your insurers would frown on it too if anything happened and you had to claim!
Don't want to be negative - nor non-money-saving - but parking is at a premium at that side of town and I'd be wary of leaving it on a retailer's premises as many are pretty on the ball. As for at the hospital - I'll keep it brief (and polite) but NO.0
