Hi - I am off to Cape Town in March - can anyone suggest any nice hotels that are good value? Many thanks.

We stayed in the Park Inn Hotel on Greenmarket Square when we visited Cape Town in August. It's a 3 star hotel with decent facilities (and air con) in the centre of Cape Town with a fantastic market of traditional "african" crafts on the door step. However, it's not safe to walk down to the V&A waterfront from there - we drove in our car at all times (5-10 mins away). spent a few weeks working there recently and arranged accommodation through https://www.portfoliocollection.com - they specialise in small hotels/guest houses which are brilliant value and much better than many of the larger hotels. We stayed at Rosedene Lodge in Sea Point and have never had such excellent service anywhere in the world. Highly recommended + we used to inspect hotels for a living!!!0
