I watched a member of staff go up to the stand with reduced bakery items on that could have been reduced again. They sweeped it all in to a clear bin liner and removed it from the shop floor. The shop was open for another 30 minutes as well.

    Never mind.

I just love my local Morrisons. They usually do great reductions between four and five pm. Last Friday I popped in and got five lovely cheeses for 20p each. I used them with a box of assorted savoury biscuits (post xmas reduction) when I had friends in later for a glass of wine. Also got five quiches 20p each, packets of Scotch eggs, dips etc. Packets of filled wraps and sandwiches were 5 -10p. Looked like I had really splashed out on food and had spent less than £3.

Most of my freezer (excluding the frozen veg) is full of 20p reductions.

There's a Morrisons not far from me which I hardly ever visit as I pass other supermarkets on my way home, but I think it's time I paid more attention to that place!
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

surfsister, where is your morrisons please? my nearest ones are morley & wakefield. anyone know what their reductions are like? asda is much nearer to me!

Morley tend to reduce things minutes before they close. I picked up a carrier bag full of bread for 5p and a bag full of cooked chicken bits for a quid if this helps.

I really should go to morrisons more often then by the sound of it!
:) A curve that straightens many lines is a smile :)
  • Always check your receipt at Morrisons to make sure they don't overcharge you for marked-down goods.

    This is how it works.
When they mark-down an item, they fail to cover up the original barcode. So although they may have written "15p" or whatever on it, when you get to the till, the scanner reads the barcode. Result: you get charged full price!

I suspect it may be deliberate, because the sticky labels they use to cover up the original barcodes are pathetically small.

When I complained about this to the store manager, she did accept my point, but shrugged and said "according to Head Office, this doesn't happen.."

Please don't let it happen to you.
