Attaching curtains to wall

Hi

I have some string curtains (the ones you usually hang in a doorway) that I want to hang on the back wall of my bedroom.

Anyone any ideas on the best way to attach them. I first put them up with blu-tac just to see what they looked like but that isnt holding.

Thanks

K

Blu-Tac, I thought that I had heard it all. But no, there is always something new coming along.!!!!
Screw a couple of cup hooks into the wall. Should do the job whether or not there is a wooden rod along the top.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

For a dead cheap rough 'n' ready approach, just a couple of screws driven through the material into the wall would do. But you'll probably find the fabric will start to tear after a while. A better solution would be to buy one of those hole-punch type things you can get in hobby shops - it sort of punches a hole and you can use it to insert a brass eyelet, a bit like a washer. Sorry, not a very good explanation, but you'll see them in hobby and craft shops. The upshot is that you get a neat hole reinforced with a brass edging. This sort of thing, though you can buy them in loads of places :

Then you can hang the curtain onto some cup hooks as 27col suggested.

You can make as many holes as required for the weight of the material, it's easy to remove for cleaning, and it'll look quite smart.

I am going to get the punch I think - I cant see it available in any nearby craft shops and so I am going to order it.

What size eyelets will work best and where can I get black ones??

    Thanks
