E-on economy 10

Options
Does anyone also have economy 10 or is it only E-on that do it?
Whenever I want to compare companies no other company seems to even know what economy 10 is.
I am wonderering whether I should change but how do I do a comparison?

As you have found, not all suppliers support this tariff, and those that do may only do so in selected regions.

The only supplier obligated to support this tariff is the local supplier or 'PES' (Public Electricity Supplier).

If you want to consider changing to another tariff, you may be left paying the bill for a revised meter to be installed.

As far as I'm aware it's only Eon and SSE that offer E10.
  • If it's causing you a probem I'd call e.on and ask for a meter exchange to a normal or economy 7 metert.
they will charge you for it tho.

    Hi barbermob,

Aside from E.ON I believe npower and Southern Electric can offer Economy 10 tariffs (worth calling to make sure).

I don’t think comparison sites have a compare function for E10 customers, so you would need to work out the cost manually.

If you don’t have the figures at home we can provide the annual usage for each rate for you, just contact us and ask.

I’d then contact npower and Southern Electric by phone and ask for the unit prices, you’ll then have the information you need to see which company works out best.

As other posters have suggested you could go for an E7 meter instead, this might work out cheaper for you, but this is slightly more difficult to calculate, but I could do this if you like.

If you want me to take a look and see if this will be beneficial send me a PM with your post code and house number and I’ll do the working out.

The thing with E10 is it’s basically a ‘comfort tariff’ you get a top up in the afternoon rather than just the 7 hours at night as you do with E7, the question is if you don’t need the additional 3 hours (mainly the afternoon reduce heat) then it would probably be beneficial to have E7.

The other positive to this is you’d get a much wider range of options when shopping around for your energy.

As I say if you’d like my assistance give me a shout! :T

Hang on. Hasn't it been pointed out that it is against forum rules for you to be asking people to pm their postcode and house number to you?
