Ahh i'm so mad!
Just received a letter from the police this morning stating that when i sold my car the driver didn't informn the DVLA. The new driver has now got caught speeding but they don't have any information on them so now they're saying that unless i supply them with details im going to get fined and points! I don't have any details on the person i sold the car to so how am i meant to tell them!!
Anyone been in a similar situation or any advice for me? I'm only 19...young and gullible perhaps!!!
Thanks xx

Did you notify the DVLA when you sold the car with the appropraite section of the V5?
Your post reads as though they accept that you are not the current keeper, in which case I would have thought you have no liability for the subsequent use of the vehicle0 -
Yes i sent the slip stating that i had sold the car. Is it on this slip that i was supposed to write the other drivers details? The letter does inform me that they know i am not the registered keeper but that i have a legal obligation to inform them of the new driver! I thought i had already sent this off! I'm so confused!0

If you have got a phone number or name of the person just send it to the police and state clearly that is the only information you know.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
