Hi all, i received my gas and electric bills today, and I knew they would be high, with it being so cold this winter.
My electric bill is £245 which is actually alot better than i thought it would be!
My gas bill however is £519!!!!
I KNOW i am responsible for paying it so please dont think i am looking for ways to get out of it or anything, but the boiler WAS faulty we have just had the system power flushed as there were cool spots on a couple of radiators.
But, i have had to have the heating on more because my daughter has been ill since november, she is waiting for diagnosis, but they reckon she has ulcerative colitis/chrons disease, and she feels the cold because she is not keeping her nutrients in, and has lost alot of weight.
I wondered if British gas do a payment system whereby i pay a bit each week on a card? I don't want a meter if i can helkp it, and cant do direct debit as i dont have the facilities in my account.
If anyone has any suggestions it would help!
These are actual meter reading by the way, not estimates.
Thanks

I think you should ask BG what they would accept. Work out the maximum you can afford to pay, and hope the numbers match. Also consider BG Energy Trust:
