It was USD from the start, the sterling 40K is mine the 40K Sterling equiv is hers
That's unfortunate, I was hoping you were going to say you converted Sterling to USD when Sterling was much stronger, if your future is in the UK you now have potentially a not insignificant currency risk also, having said that, depending on when you invested, the Value of the investment then, in pounds compared to it's value in pounds now might not bequite so bad.
What I mean is, if back then you had simply converted it to Sterling instead of investing, compared to what it is worth in Sterling now, does that not take some sting out of it, The USD is probably up over 70% against Sterling over the last year.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
