We got a letter in the post today addressed to both of us by our first names and asking us to invest £35,000 in an "ethical" sale and rent back scheme.
They are asking us to become one of a consortium of 12 investors. The money is for a TV marketing campaign to acquire properties from owners who want to remain tenants in their own home.

Now I'm not even considering this as firstly I haven't a clue how they got our names and secondly there are people out there who have considerably more money than us that they can afford to risk so why pick on us. But for curiosity sake I would be interested to know if this is a scam.

I can provide the name of the company and the name of the Consortium manager if that's allowed on this forum. Their literature also promotes a website which encourages equity release.
