Egg FTSE bond matures: Damn!!!

In March 2003 I put 10K in an Egg FTSE 6-year Bond.
It's final value was based on the FTSE100 on last Friday minus the FTSE100 in march 2003 times my 10K.
Return on my investment ..... zero.

Well that was a bloody great bit of investing, wasn't it.
Warren Buffet I am not!

Don't beat yourself up alanswg - there are many people who would look at coming out of the stock market with 0% as a much better result than they achieved (I am one!)

Could be worse, you could have been advised by some scumball IFA to take out an endowment mortgage instead of a repayment, which he guaranteed will double in value when it matures in 25 years time.

13th March 2009 it matures.......nope won't even pay the mortgage, so at least you havent lost out, but doesnt make you feel any better.

Zero return on any stockmarket related product over the last 5 years is massive outperformance

depends whether you benchmark it against cash or equities - the OP appears to do the former, as do many investors in these products
