Back in December I tried to purchase a ticket from http://www.tinthepark2009.com/ I did supply my credit card details to them and printed the confirmation for 195 pounds. Shortly afterwards I recieved a cc statement with an unauthorised payment for 320 pounds for a "ticket to budapest" and realised it was from this source. I cancelled the cc straight away and my cc company said not to worry it would be "put into dispute". Today I was shocked to get a letter from the cc company saying they were accepting evidence from the scammers that it was a legitimate charge! I went to trading standards back in December and was told this was a known scam website but it won't be closed down because the scammers had until the day of the festival to provide the tickets. I phoned the CC company today and told them no way I wanted this payment to go ahead and they now say it will be passed to their fraud dept. Am I going to have to pay even though I'm sure no ticket will be provided?

The website you provided is the official website for TITP. If you bought tickets from there, the link would've taken you to ticketmaster.
Last year loads of people got scammed for various festivals, and money coming out from Budapest. Red this http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=106529&hl=Scam
I'm presuming this is the website you booked yours from. Not the official one as you said.0 -
Updated, meant the one above which has been taken down but at the time looked exactly like the official one does now.0

Amex now say I have to pay since the fraudsters have till the date of the concert in July to provide a ticket and amex won't help me until that date is past. Be warned, paying by credit card is NO protection.0
