Nationwide Debit Card Failures
Anyone having problems with Debit Cards not working. I'm now on my 6th card which has just failed again in the last four months. Started in October replaced my old card as it was torn, every card since has worked one or twice then failed. I got £100 out of them so far for disruption but now its starting to annoy me:mad: . Have my mortgage with them on a 5 yr fixed rate and I'd move tomorro if I didnt have to pay the excessive redemption fee.
Interested to know if others are having the same issue,,,,,,,

I can go to the machine get a balance but it then if I want cash it says contact your bank, I have money in the account and the bank say everythings fine all the time and it should work ok. I cant use it in the card reader cause the card doesnt work for paying bills on-line, Its my 6th card there all the same.AH..................0

are you keeping the card near electrical equipment ,sometimes that can scramble the information .Having said that I have never had a problem with mine"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0

Had some "interesting" advice from employer regarding keeping work ID next to bank cards. Apparently the RFID chip in the pass can corrupt the magstripes and cause problems in ATM's. Can't see this can be technically possible personally, but the advice was given. Never had an issue with it in 7 years of keeping the card in the same wallet, but ymmv?Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Electrical interference can disrupt magnetic stripes (train tickets are a common one, when in bags or pockets with mobile phones). So I would imagine that the same would apply to the mag stripes on the back of bank cards.0

Never had a problem with my Nationwide card, I do keep my oyster card and work proximity (i.e. chip) ID card separately, but keep all the magnetic strip cards together.Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0
