just saw on the news my post office savings isnt safe anymore
ive seen the egg savings account and it seems ok
any reasons why i shouldnt go with them ?

Is your post office savings with Bank of Ireland? That makes it pretty safe as it's guaranteed by the Irish govt. If it's NS&I it's guaranteed by UK treasury and if it's Family well that's a fairly small well run British org.
Egg is owned by Citibank which is American and $$MM in the doodoos but the UK arm has a FSCS guarantee up to £50k.
Hope you don't live in a flat cos you'll have a devil of a job getting Egg to recognize your address.0 -
I have banked online with Egg for many years and have found it really easy to move money backwards and forwards online. There turn transactions around quickly and if you have an ISA or other investments you can view them all in one place. It was my first experience of online banking and I have no complainsts whatsover.0
