Pregnant - clubs/freebies

Hi all,

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place, but I was just wondering if anyone has a list of the best sites to sign up to for freebies/vouchers etc for a new baby?

I'm 21 weeks pregnant, and have so far only joined up for the Boots Parenting club. But have read about people who've got tonnes of freebie bits and bobs from signing up for other clubs online.

Other than the nappy companies (ie. huggies/pampers) are there any other good ones?

Thanks,

Helen x

Cow and Gate are very good, even if you don't use their formula! They send out lots of useful leaflets, including one for Dad's about becoming a new father. When baby is born, they send out regular mailings and coupons when it comes to weaning time.

The Tesco one is good too. Have you registered with Bounty? You should get the Bounty Packs in the hospital when baby is born, or from the midwife if you have a home birth, but there is a Mum to be pack which if you collect in Asda, has a £5 off baby stuff voucher in!

The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

I found that most of the freebies that I get are on stuff that I don't use like formula, disposable nappies, baby wipes and toiletries, and baby food! But I love a bargain so I signed up to all the clubs etc and give them to my friends who use the products so they get twice as many freebies/ money off etc! That said however I have got a few bit's from Hipp organic that were useful (join the hipp baby club online) Bounty club (join online) Pampers club(join online- Notice a theme? :D) Also the asda baby event's are usually really good where all baby products are reduced or on offer I think they do this twice a year! Details should be on asda site??
Good luck with everything, and hope you can get some free goodies!!

I found the same as fernliebee. I haven;t bothered even getting my bag from Boots as I am not going to use dispoable nappies, formula milk or baby food! That's all thee seem to have vouchers for and I can do without the clutter so I've just left it.

I'd agree with the other posters that most of the freebies available aren't worth getting as it's mostly marketing/advertising materials and money off coupons for stuff you don't need to buy anyway. I collected a goody bag from Lloyds Chemist with a voucher I got very early on, and it was just full of leaflets, a sample breast pad and a bottle of Appletiser - which all ended up in the recycle bin. I thought it was going to be something good as when the woman scanned it in at the till, it flashed up as having a retail value of £10... shocking.

I would recommend getting the SMA Newborn Know How DVD by joining the Baby Club http://www.smanutrition.co.uk/smababyclub/. It's got some really good advice on stuff including bringing baby home, breast feeding, bottle feeding, sterilising, bathing, nappy changing, etc.

Also the From Bump to Breastfeeding DVD from http://www.orderline.dh.gov.uk/ecom_dh/public/saleproduct.jsf?rowId=286873 which is obviously all about breastfeeding. We were shown bits of this DVD in the Parentcraft session, and I decided to order it and watch the whole thing.

Both DVD's are free and just involve registering with the websites which is also free.

There are some money off things like Vertbaudet (maternity and baby clothes) in the Bounty and Emma's Diary packs.

Also don't forget that you can use money off coupons off any shopping in most Asda and Tesco stores, even if you don't buy the actual product. As long as the store sells the item then they will usually take the money straight off your shopping.

you've just missed the ASDA baby event - there was one in February and one just a couple of weeks ago so there might be another one before you drop.

It's the Emma's Diary one which you pick up from Lloyds and isn't worth 10p let alone £10

I just googled baby clubs and entered every one that I found - had a few vouchers and some free nappies but not much else!

I have found the babiesrus one quite good (based at toysrus). since joining 3 months ago every month they have sent me £5 off £30 spend x 2 which I have found useful as getting most of m stuff from there anyway.
