Hey travelturkey,

Iv been planning on going skiing up north too, i was gonna jump in the car and head to aviemore, but then i thought i should probably check out conditions/hire prices etc.

If you take a look at this website http://www.aviemore.co.uk/ You will find the different ski schools, current conditions (appears to be good skiing conditions just now) and places to stay.

According to this site there are only ski lifts open in Glencoe, but no skiing as there's insufficient snow.

And this site suggests that the Scottish skiing season has ended

(skiing in France next week)

I drove over one of the main skiing mountains a couple of weeks ago and there wasn't a drop of snow anywhere.

I's been snowing a little this week but I very much doubt if there is enough anywhere for skiing.

You'd be better hopping on a cheap flight to Slovakia or Poland. We were at Zakopane in Poland for half term. Probably not for the hard core expert skier but good enough for us more casual types.
