I also gave up because of the time it took.If I had known then what I know now . . .

I uploaded 7 photos - about 10 MB in total. It took about 10 minutes (did not time it), which I thought was not too bad.
The strange thing was that the progress bar got to about 150% before it finished![size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

uploading the photos is fine for me..
I think its smthing to do with your internet connection.. i.e. for 10MB on 256kb upstream (typical ADSL) will take around 6 minutes to complete0 -
I have used Pixum a number of times and I have to say I have always been delighted with their quality and service.
My thoughts/advice on various questions issues raised are:
1) As to the question of whether images can be adjusted after they have been uploaded – it is generally considered it is better to adjust your images in a programme such as Photoshop, or as a free programme, perhaps Irfanview (which is highly regarded by the photographic community), before uploading. And to get the maximum size of print bear in mind that you may have to crop the photo to produce a 3 * 2 ratio of the width and height – particularly relevant for most point and shoot digital cameras which produce images of a 4 * 3 ratio (from such an image Pixum would produce a 16*12 print not 18*12!).
2) For uploading I have often found the Pixum upload programme to be a bit problematic. However I have found uploading by email to be very reliable. Details can be found in the “help” section at Pixum.
3) For display purposes the Pixum 12 inch prints are very good. Obviously depends on the quality of the source image, I have also had the 30 * 20 inch prints from Pixum and they are also very good. Bear in mind that the larger the print the further away you should be viewing the image from.
4) As to shipping cost, Pixum do charge a standard amount no matter the order size. The prints arrive very well packaged, rolled up in a folder/sleeve and then that folder/sleeve is placed inside another larger box with packaging material around it. Typical German efficiency with perhaps a degree of “over-engineering”.
5) Although ordering through Pixum.co.uk, where prices appear in Sterling, I have always been charged in Euro: so use a credid card which gives a good exchange rate, such as “Nationwide Credit Card”; and treat the sterling prices as “indicative”, click thru to the prices in Euro to find what you will actually be charged (unless the system has changed since I last used it!).
Hope this helps.Money Saving Fan.0 -

Can anyone else who's ordered from Pixum confirm that their credit card has been charged in Euros??
I did and mine has despite the invoice stating the price in stirling.0 -
At the bottom of the Pixum price list it states:
"IMPORTANT : please note that the British pound prices are only indicated for your convenience. All invoices are in EURO. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, you may be billed a slightly different amount than the prices above mentioned. For exact prices, please consult our price list in Euro by clicking on show € and metric system"

Thanks Waterstar. I completely missed that bit. Luckily for me I paid with my Nationwide credit card so didn't loose out too much in the conversion0

Likewise, I missed that.Canny_mal wrote:Thanks Waterstar. I completely missed that bit. Luckily for me I paid with my Nationwide credit card so didn't loose out too much in the conversion
I would have paid with my Nationwide card if I had seen it.
In fact, I have just taken a look at the dump that I took of the ordering page. All the prices are in £ with no mention of Euros.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.
