Any reports on quality ? Are these of the Photobox or Snapfish quality ?
On that subject I have just had batches of the same photos from both Photobox and Snapfish and much to my mamazement, the Snapfish actually came out better. I think they are using better paper and that the quality has improved.0 -
Saw this offer 40 free prints IF you use an Amex Card or this one for Wacom kit.
More info on the Amex deal here
OPs voucher codes on MSE here
Readin the blurb on the Amex site it says these people use Kodak paper etc and it is all top notch also they claim to have won awards so might be worht a punt. Also the Am ex site blabs on about a risk free full refund.
Not sure what the P&P is on the 20 or 40 free prints or these poster prints?
There are lots of special on here no need for any code to get these. Look for the items in red.Seth.0 -

When did you get your Snapfish prints?
I got mine on the recent offer 2 weeks ago. They were useless really thin paper poor image quality. BEWARE the snapfish upload tool REDUCES the resolution of your photos unless you ask for high quality!
Used photobox in Jan 2005 another offer, the quality was very VERY good.
Just got the Lumix photo deal on grabit photos good but not as good as the Jan 2005 (Five not 6!) offer from Photobox. Others on MSE had problems with the Lumix offer, I did not. They had to switch from IE to Firefox, I was using Firefox already. The only problem with the Lumix site was the slow manual upload, just about useable have to upload in batches of 14; very slow with 8mp output
From what you say these on-line outfits seem to have variable quality?Seth.0 -

Snapfish was also 2 weeks ago and I have to say that I found them better than previously and, on this occasion, better colour rendition than Photobox, although overall print quality on Photobox was still superior.0 -
pixum are pretty good. certainly better than snapfish. i've had a poster print from them and it's pretty awesome. it's on good quality paper. looks good on the wall

What sort of pixel resolution would you need to get a decent 18"x12" print?
I suspect that my 5.25 megapixel would not be enough, but I am considering one of the Aldi 8 megapixel beasts.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.

The 5mp will be fine if you have not cropped it too much. 4MP (actual not interpolated) is ok up to A3.
Remember Photopaper is only 300ish DPI. I know printers say they are 4800x2400 DPI with 2pl droplets etc but this is to mix colours to produce the range of colours needed. These bleed on the paper to make the required colour! Unless you are using a high end dye sublimation printer all photo printing is no better than 300 to 350 DPI max.
This is good primer:

The numbers here are VERY conservative:

They certainly are!seth wrote:The numbers here are VERY conservative
I blow my 4mp pictures up to around 60cmx40cm and am very happy with the results. Mostly done through Photobox - I always wait for their regular offers to come round. Currently they are offering 25% off with the code FEB25SAVE
EDIT: Just occured to me I'm not really meant to post voucher codes on this forum am I? This one is a safe though. You can find it just by clicking a link on their home page which takes you here0 -
mine was a 3mp image and looks just fine0

The poster looks like a good deal. Postage seems to be £3.05 - I've never developed pics online and was wondering if that was steep or normal?0
