Hanging new doors - at what stage do you paint them?

We're having new doors fitted, the internal ones are pre-primed moulded doors. When do you paint them? if we take them down to paint after the fitter has hung them are we likely to weaken them? How important is it to seal the top, bottom and all of the hinge and latch cuts etc?

Paint internal doors after the fitting, there's no need to take the doors 'off' to paint them, and you don't need to paint the top bottom etc.

External doors prime before hanging, inc top bottom etc, then paint after hanging, there's no need to gloss the top or the bottom of the door.
