I do like the 1 series but its probably a little too small, particularly as I'm often heading down to the beach with lots of kite gear.
The 120d is really peachy fast though!
Have you looked at the 2.2D 06-now Civic. Fast, economical and biggest boot/storage space in that class.
I used to have one it is the wifes now, It is a diesel holligan.0 -

The honda with 17" wheels can be a bit of a bum breaker over bumps so i agree ride wise the golf as the edge. I just love that the honda it's like your fantasy of a space ship (inside and out) when you were a 5 year old

I'm no mechanic so find it a bit stressful, especially when spending large sums of wonga.
If I super chip the GT I should get ~185HP :cool:
