Looking for a very central hotel in cardiff with a swimming pool for £50 a night in April - any chance?

As far as I can recall (I stand to be corrected as I'm not from Cardiff) the only Central Hotels with a Pool are the Hilton, Marriott, Mcdonald Holland House and Novatel. You may get a £50 deal for the weekend but you'll do well to get one in the week!

Not much chance at £50 in the centre. You might find this price but not with pool. For this price try The Big Sleep and IBIS neither of which has a pool but both are central. There's also a Travelodge in the centre but its right in the late night drinking area so unless you want to party you won't get much sleep. HolidayInn also have a city centre location.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi
The hotel below is a 5 min drive or 15 min walk from the city centre

    Premier travel Inn Cardiff (Roath)
    David Lloyd Leisure Club
    Ipswich Road
    Roath
    Cardiff
    CF23 9AQ

    T: 08701 977 049

It's situated next door to the David Lloyd club and although I’ve not been a member there for a year now patrons of the hotel used to get to use the facilities during there stay. I've checked the Web Site and it doesn't mention it but it might be worth the phone call.
  • You will struggle to get one for that price in Cardiff. The Village hotel in Coryton Cardiff. Is just on the edge of Cardiff and has easy access to town. If you call the national booking number for village hotels on a Thursday after 2pm you can get a room for £50 for the Saturday if there is one available.

    Hope that helps
  • has a gym and a swimming pool and although I don't know what generally the price is, why not use Tesco vouchers to reduce the price further (£10 of Tesco vouchers = £40 to spend on a marriott room!)

  • Hi

3* Park Inn £68 per room
    4* Copthorne £68 per room
    5* Hilton £105 per room

All with pools. Look on expedia for full details, location etc. I know its more than you want to spend but central locations are always going to cost more.

    Hope this helps.

  • The Copthorne is not central and definitely DO NOT STAY in the Ibis as the bathrooms smell of poo. The Royal hotel on St Mary's street is very nice indeed although it doesn't have a pool but has been recently done up and rooms are very trendy and Austin Powers like.
  • Thanks - managed to find the Novotel for £59 via expedia. Central and has a pool.
