£6500 to install a gas central heating system. The system is a megaflo system with 6 radiators and underfloor heating in the kitchen. The boiler will be a valiant boiler and a 210l tank. The house is a 3 bed with 2 bathrooms and possibly a garage conversion to a bed room in the future. The work is to be done by polish corgi registered plumber
£6000 - To skim all the walls in the house 3 bed, bathrooms and living room, dinning room and hallway. As well as installing 2 bathrooms incl. wc, shower, wasbasin. I have to supply the tiles and the items to be installed. It also includes installing the kitchen as well. The guys live in poland and have done work for friends so I know the work is good. They will come to the uk to do the work.
Do you think the prices are fair?

If he's gone back to poland and coming here to do the job he'd better get it done before the end of March when CORGI registrations are NO LONGER valid and he'll have to be registered on the Gas Safe Register. If he's not the system will be instaled illegally - there is no period if grace.. Has he got a G3 ticket for the unvented cylinder? Is he supplying boiler, cylinder, radiators etc or are you?£6000 - To skim all the walls in the house 3 bed, bathrooms and living room, dinning room and hallway. What are you going to do if there are warranty issues with any of the kit or the workmanship?
I personally think you are, potentially, taking an enormous risk with £12½k of your money.0 -
At the very least you should have three separate and independent quotes for this work considering the amount of money potentially involved. Thats the only way you can be certain of a being able to make comparisons.0

as a reliable and competant British tradesman i actually hope it all goes pete tong for you.0
-
forget the poles, what about british labour shame on you!!!
Thats why the countrys on its knees.0 -
have to agree let the british boys do the job,and get this country back on its feet, and not let the poles take it home.0
