How to amend building reg plans ?

Hi,
I have regulation "full plans" for a side storey extension that have been approved.
Since I have decided that I also want a very simple rear extension, so I guess I have two options
- Resubitmit new plans with side\rear so all work is considered to be one project hence I only pay one inspection fee.
- Do the rear extension by "Building notice" but then I will have to pay 2 fees for inspection.
My Questions are :
1) Building by notice requires some plans (Scale of extension & Material to be used) are these the same plans that are needed for full building regs ?
2)I have the original plans for the side extension. Would it be possible for a non-architect (me
) to just amend and add on the rear extension and just resubmit ?. i.e Assuming a straight forward build all materials are the same as the side extension.
Also I would like building work to commernce in around 5 week

having a look at the current building regs for the side it look like I may have to get them amended by the architect

In situations like this you are better off ringing the plaaning dept they will advise you.0

It sounds to me as though you may need planning permission for the rear extension as well as building regs.
I'd start with the planning department first.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
