New bathroom - paint & tiles for walls?

Hi
I'm after some advice please. We're hoping to completely re-do our bathroom come the summer - new suite, remove existing tiles & replace, new floor etc.
At the moment we have floor to ceiling tiles (bright blue!!!) and ideally i would like to only tile part way up the wall (finishing just above the sink) and then paint the remainder up to the ceiling. However, Hubby isn't too keen on that idea - think he's concerned about condensation causing mould on the paint. Has anyone got a part tiled, part painted bathroom and have you had any problems with it not being competely tiled?
Obviously we'll be completely tiling the bath / shower area.
Thanks in advance

    use dulux bathroom paint

Is very tough and hardwearing and can be scrubbed without removing paint

I have had part painted, part tiled bathroom (I think a lot of people do!) - was painted with bathroom paint which can be a little harder to apply than normal paint but you can sponge it down to clean it if required. Never had any mould problems but did have extractor fan and opened window to air (most of the time!!)

We have part tiled part paint with Dulux Kitchen & Bathroon paint - the only place we get mould from condensation is on the ceiling where we accidently put ordinary paint.

We also have it in the kitchen and don't have a splashback behing the cooker - meant to, time just keeps marching on!! - and all I do is wipe it down. It has been on the walls for three years and is about as good as the day it was painted no staining (from splashing curries) and no drip marks from the steamer.

I would advise putting an extractor fan in the bathroom though, it is far easier to have done while work is in progress rather than after - I learnt that one from experience:D

Thank you for the replies - i'll be showing hubby later!!
We have an extractor fan and tend to open the window after showers etc to air too.
Tiles and paint it is then - just need to get some quotes on the rest of the work now!

We used it on the ceiling in our bathroom which had previously suffered from mould problems due to a nearly-useless extractor fan. We replaced the fan and cleaned & repainted the ceiling using Dulux bathroom paint and it was still like new when we sold.
